about stars on the court

the game has always had a deeper story.

Stars on the Court explores women’s basketball through astrology, observation, and storytelling. We look beyond the box score to consider the identities, relationships, emotions, and cultural currents that shape how the game is played and experienced.

Astrology gives us one way to ask those questions. It is a language for exploring personality, chemistry, timing, and connection, not a shortcut to predicting what happens on the court. Our work is grounded in curiosity about the game and respect for the people who make it what it is.

We’re here for people who love basketball, people who love astrology, and anyone who is curious about what the two can reveal together.

a different lens on the game

Stars on the Court began with a feeling: women’s basketball is rich with story, meaning, and connection, and there are more ways to pay attention to it.

That idea guides our work today, from social storytelling to The Observatory, our publication for longer reflections on the rhythms and stories of the sport. We approach astrology as an interpretive lens, bringing it into conversation with women’s basketball and the culture around it.

meet the founder, rox

I’m Roxanne (Rox) Benefiel (right), founder of Stars on the Court. I’ve spent more than 15 years working in brand strategy and creative leadership, helping turn complex ideas into clear, thoughtful experiences. I’ve also studied astrology for more than 20 years and maintained a professional astrology practice for about five years.

For the past two years and counting, I’ve been focused on bringing astrology into conversation with women’s sports. That work brings together my professional practice, my creative and research background, and my lifelong interest in the ways people find meaning in sport.

My partner Kris Branch (left) is a vital part of how the brand has taken shape through her knowledge of sports and years of courtside fandom. She has helped deepen the project and keep it connected to the game and its community. She is also the founder of a brand development firm for athletes, Rowte.

part of a larger solar system

Stars on the Court is the first expression of Stellium Sports, a wider home for thoughtful, culturally aware storytelling about sports through astrology.

We’re starting with women’s basketball and building from what we learn here. The larger vision is still taking shape, guided by the belief that sport holds stories about identity, community, and human connection that are worth exploring from more than one angle.

We’re glad you’re here.
